From the quirky grommeted ankle-strap flatforms at Bottega Veneta to the sculptural, shoulder-grazing earrings at Prada, the runways were full of an ultra-luxurious maximalism: Even the most decorated accessories, like Fendi’s striped python shoulder bag, which mixed color, embellishment, and texture, felt accessible, rather than over the top. There was a refreshingly diverse vision of femininity at play, too, that ran the gamut from Versace’s intricately beaded camouflage rucksack, which combined the allure of luxurious materials and craftsmanship with an authoritative attitude (and kicky, hands-free appeal) to the dangling pearl earrings at Ferragamo that proved a draw for those more desirous of a certain elegant minimalism. Here, the best accessories from the week in Milan.
